Behind the apparent oblivion of space in the classical formulation of citizenship, there is an implicit narrative that defines the main places and scenarios where it develops historically, and in which the practices of rights and the assumption of civic duties take place.
Three spaces become the privileged locus for the learning and practising of citizenship: the city, the school and the family home. The article analyzes how they are stated and described within this narrative. On the other hand, it takes into account the way in which
the perception of the transformation of these same spaces has become relevant in the different citizenship crisis diagnoses that socio-political analysis has put forward in the last few years.
