Abstract

In this article, we question whether politicians reduce voter uncertainty during the election campaign. We understand voter uncertainty to be the typical departure from the ideological placing that citizens give to political parties. In order to verify the hypothesis that politicians reduce uncertainty during election campaigns, we use the survey panel carried out by the CIS in the year 2000. The results corroborate the hypothesis.
