Abstract

This article attempts to analyse the interaction between civil society and the state in the process
of postmodern restructuring of the models for designation of the welfare state. Without
wishing to undertake an exhaustive review of the latter, what is sought is an investigation into
the system of relationships which result from changes made in the multilateral power networks
of developed western societies, and their projection towards new forms for social agent participation
and public control.
