This piece of research focuses on the expression of identity through
photography. A comparative study was undertaken of two iconic
collections belonging to some Spanish public figures, whose lives
spanned a period from the late nineteenth century to the first third of the
twentieth century. Specifically, the family photograph albums of Miguel
de Unamuno and Joaquín Turina were analysed by using a technique
based on the representation of social networks. This showed the
importance of studying the coincidences between the people featured in
the photographs in terms of revealing the social component of their
identity.
