This article proposes a methodology for analysing the impact of protest from a perspective that is established on open, dynamic approaches, and which links different schools of theory. In order to do this, we take into consideration the evolution of the object of study (forms of mobilisation) that has historically led to an adaptation of the theoretical perspectives for observing these phenomena. In the last few years we have recorded new protest phenomena, such as those held in front of
international summit meetings and which had their first media «bang» in Seattle (1999), calling for us to make a review of the classical perspective. This new methodology will be illustrated with the study of the impact of these new global movements.
