In the present social context of search and demand for quality, the survey cannot be absent. The credibility and significance of the data that the survey provides in the analysis of social reality depends on the level of rigor placed on the design, execution and interpretation of the information collected. This article synthesizes, in a comprehensive, plural and diachronic way, the aspects to be considered in the evaluation of survey quality, underlining the errors that can come together in its execution. We start from a joint and intertwined vision of survey errors, as well as from the need to know them, for the sake of their prediction and control. The concreteness of the limits of the survey, together with the preventive and mitigating actions in their resolution, contribute to the advance towards its quality. This is the reason why we show the steps most scholars agree with in relation to the firm tread along the path of survey quality.
