In this study, the structural characteristics of the governance of tourist activity in Colombia are evaluated. Network science is applied to assess the structure and role of each actor/organization involved in governance.
In addition, a fuzzy cluster algorithm is used to evaluate the general level of participation in governance of the organizations that constitute the sectors involved in tourism activity. The results show that the general level of interaction is low and that two clearly differentiated communities coexist. There is high heterogeneity in the participation of organizations.
Based on these findings we propose actions to improve and optimize the structure of governance of tourism activity in Colombia.
