After the statutory reforms in 2007, debate over the territorial organisation of the Spanish state changed. Using a multilevel analysis, the aim of this study is to examine public opinion regarding the current territorial system and whether the challenge of Catalan sovereignty has led to a change in attitudes and in the influence of the main components of Spanish political culture, and therefore, the profile of those supporting decentralisation. Thanks to the analysis carried out, we have found that there is indeed a change in the influence of some of the variables, the most important one being differences among Spain?s Autonomous Communities.
