Abstract

This paper expounds on the incidence of the so-called «Sokal Affair» from and for the most
specific perspective of Social Studies of Science. Similarly, these pages attempt to configure not
only the intellectual and academic context in which such an event occurred, but also the widest
social, cultural, economic and political sphere which is a determinant in many aspects of that
incident.
