Abstract

The disputes about the climate change are about the future. This paper distinguishes between different discourses on climate change taht correspond to different ways of imagining the future. These differences correspond to alternative ways of conceiving the formal and practical- cognitive dimensions of future horizons. Given the relevance of social struggels over climate change and the confrontation of different imaginary futures, it concludes that, away from the diagnosis of the presentification, we find ourselves in a situation where a contested futurization dominates.
