The commercialization of in-home care services and the incorporation
of economic assistance following the implementation of the "Law on
the Promotion of Personal Autonomy and Care of Dependent People"
(LAPAD) are the most signifi cant changes occurring in the social organization
of senior care over the past decade. Given the internal diversity
of the Spanish social services system-- subsidies offered for care and
privatization, this study explores the various social organization models
of family care in the Autonomous Communities, examining regional
differences. Correspondence analysis was used to create a national
classifi cation system based on public and private family care in the
different regions.
