The mechanisms by which indigenous and immigrant female workers are allocated in
reproductive services firms are mainly based on preferences of employers and customers. Data
show that when they hire workers, employers operate with positive and negative preferences and
discriminate on stereotypes according to gender, ethnicity and/or nationality. These prejudgements
are responsible for countering two categorically different groups: «indigeneous women» vs.
«immigrant women». This situation leads to the ethnisation of reproductive services.
