Sañón y desazón en la cultura española

Abstract

This paper analyses what its author calls the «Spanish cultural transition», which has
occurred during the last decades that coincide with the lifetime of the REIS. This is a transition
that shows close affinities of choice with political, demographic, economic, and socio-structural
transitions simultaneously sustained in this country. Also verified in this paper is the nature of
secularization, shifts of attitudes and beliefs, the ambiguities of latter modernisation of Spanish
society and trends, both convergent and divergent, shared with the rest of European nations.
Besides this, suggestions of some possible features of the Spanish cultural future are hinted at.
