The Spanish Journal of Sociological Research (REIS) is a scientific journal specialized in Social Sciences in areas of Sociology and Political Science. It has been published periodically since 1978, and its predecessor was the Spanish Magazine of Public Opinion (1965-1977). In April 1965, number zero of the (REOP) was published and since then the Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS) has continuously published scientific articles of the highest quality, adapting to social changes and technological advances experienced.

It is the first Spanish Journal in Sociology in the Journal Citation Report of Web Of Science (WOS), maintaining every year between Q3/Q4. In Scopus (citescore) and in Scimago Journal Ranking (SJR) it is Q2 in Sociology and Social Sciences. It ranks first among Spanish scientific journals in this area according to the FECYT, renewing the quality seal of this organization every year. In Dialnet metrics it is in Q1. It is within international databases of scientific journals and repositories around the world.
